Ian Wilson
Ian Wilson, Founder of Portland Edible Gardens
Ian Wilson (he/him) is a professional edible food gardener that believes growing your own food is about more than just food. He believes growing your own food brings nourishment, joy, beauty, and calm into our lives and connects us to the places we live.
Ian earned an Advanced Certificate in Ecological Horticulture at UC Santa Cruz in 2010. He managed 18 acres of organic vegetables at 47th Avenue Farm, one of Portland’s oldest CSA farms and grew food for over 200 families. He also worked on and managed organic farms in Vermont, Argentina, Hawaii, and California.
For Zest, he leads interactive, educational Edible Gardening Demonstrations for our clients. Employees walk away with more confidence and expertise to be successful in their gardens. After educational workshops with Ian, employees find that growing their own food is less stressful, more fun, and helps them feel more connected to their region and their bodies.
He founded Portland Edible Gardens in 2013 and has brought his mission to life for individuals, families, and businesses throughout the US.
